About Us

We are a local family run business offering the warmest of welcomes to all of our visitors. We pride ourselves on the finest home baking and freshly made breakfasts, brunch, lunch and afternoon teas served in the heart of Filey, a jewel on the Yorkshire coast.

Our cakes and scones are freshly baked daily and our menu can be enjoyed in the warmth of our traditional tea room, at one of our outdoor tables or on the move. We proudly source the majority of our ingredients locally with bacon, cooked meats, crab, prawns and vegetables all sourced from local businesses in Filey. 

The Lighthouse was originally established by Simon’s mam Janet and stepdad Paul back in September 2007. Simon and Emma took over the reins in February 2017 and continue to uphold the character and legacy built up by Janet and Paul over the previous 10 years. 

As a themed tea room we aim to make every visit an interesting and enjoyable one. We have over 200 lighthouses from around the world represented in one form or another including photos, models and artwork. We hope that a warm welcome, wide selection of drinks and delicious food can help make your visit to Filey a special one. You may even spot a lighthouse or two...
